Eva is usually all smiles and full of energy when you meet her. She grew up in central Nyköping, but feels at home throughout the entire municipality.
"The best thing about Nyköping is how close we are to the water – especially the Baltic Sea, but also the Nyköping River that winds through the whole town,” she says.
The first thing Eva recommends to visitors is the riverside walk known as the “Å-promenaden”. It’s a scenic route where you pass both historical and modern architecture, she explains. “Nyköping is one of Sweden’s oldest towns – and don’t forget the castle, our landmark,” she adds with a smile.
Eva also has plenty of tips for food and drink lovers. If you're looking for cosy spots to unwind in the evening – whether for a good meal or just a drink – she recommends trying Nyköping’s microbreweries.
“Nyköping Brewing and Nils Oscar are both unique and absolutely worth a visit. They’re carrying on the town’s brewing tradition that goes way back. And their locations are great – just a ten-minute walk from the town centre, which feels like a real luxury.”

Enjoy great local beer at Nyköping’s newest microbrewery. Try a tasting menu and sample a range of brews – paired with their pizza, it’s the perfect combination.
Nils Oscar
This brewery’s speciality is classic beer with a modern twist. In summer, you can visit the seasonal pub with its large outdoor terrace, or book a tasting session in the historic Old Brewery.
Brovakten
Located on Östra Storgatan, Brovakten is one of Eva’s favourites. “As soon as the weather warms up, I’m out on the terrace enjoying good food and people-watching,” she says. The menu is a modern take on classic dishes, with a touch of luxury.
Voyage
A perfect place to meet up with friends. Right in the heart of town, the vibe here is modern, a bit trendy, and very relaxed.
Espana Tapas Bar
“A magical spot right by the rushing river,” says Eva. If you’re a fan of Spanish tapas, this is the place to go – the surroundings and the food are both top-notch.
